Discussion: 'HODL' vs 'Spend and Replace'

Discussion: 'HODL' vs 'Spend and Replace'Hi everyoneLong-time reader, first-time poster. Some thoughts. I've noticed on this SubReddit, and in the discussions, people with BTC tend to be holders and not much else. I realize this is partially because of Bitcoin's amazing price movements and the desire to get rich (that's also what piqued my interest). But few seem to be pushing it for adoption as a currency. Now that I've spent some time in the community, read some books, run a Node etc. I see this as a negative. HODL is great for market crashes but you'll never be able to see the amazing value of this technology unless you use it. It was only when I set up a mobile wallet and started buying things that I realized 'Holy crap! This is so easy. This can change the world!'. I think we'd get more lightbulb moments (and more adoption) if people promoted that. But when I speak to people, a lot of them have resistance to using Bitcoin as a currency . Seller's remorse comes up often ("what if it goes up?").Any thoughts?Full disclosure: I hold lots of BTC, zero BCH, and I'm a small blocker at heart. But I do frequent BCH message boards (Silos are for suckers. I'm pro open discussion, even if it's hostile). I think the BCH community's 'Spend and Replace' mentality is better than 'HODL'. I think the scaling debate and high fees took attention away from the currency aspect. But with Segwit over 30% and Lightning in Beta, why not push for it again?Even better than spending Bitcoin: earning it. I've been looking into ways to do this as well. Any ideas? via /r/Bitcoin https://ift.tt/2GAJ4NY
